We have confirmed reports of the moon sighted in various places which share the night with us across the USA, including San Diego (which we have confirmed directly), as well as across the Bay Area and LA. Shia communities in California have declared Eid and are celebrating on this basis as well.

On the basis of these sightings, we will therefore be celebrating Eid ul Fitr 1444 on Friday 21st April. Eid Mubarak!

Eid Al-Fitr Prayers To Be Held on Friday, April 21st at the IECOC, pending moonsighting confirmation

Due to the high likelyhood of visibility of the new moon on Thursday, April 20th, Eid Al-Fitr prayers will be held on Friday, April 21st at the IECOC, pending confirmation.

Doors will open at 7AM. Takbeerat will begin at 7:30AM, followed by the Eid Prayer and Sermon at 8AM sharp.

Friday Prayers will also be held during the regular scheduled time of 1PM.

Eid Programme
We expect Eid ul Fitr to be on Friday 21st April as we expect the moon to be sighted in various countries which share the night with us on Thursday night.

We will, however, probably find out late into Thursday night that the moon has been sighted and will email to confirm.

On the morning of Eid day, we will be starting the programme at 7:00am - with Du'a Nudba followed by Eid Salaat, Khutba, short speech and refreshments!

وَأَنْ تُخْرِجَنِي مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ أَخْرَجْتَ مِنْهُ مُحَمّداً وَآلَ مُحَمّدٍ	wa an tukhrijany min kulli su‘in akhrajta minhu muhammadan wa ala muhammadin	And that You save me from any item of evil from which You have saved Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ.	salawatuka `alayhi wa `alayhim	May Your blessings be upon him and upon them.
اللّهُمّ إِنّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادُكَ الصَّالِحُونَ،	allahumma inne as’aluka khayra ma sa’alaka `ibaduka alssalihuna	O Allah: I pray You for the best of all that for which Your righteous servants have prayed You,
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِمَّا اسْتَعَاذَ مِنْهُ عِبَادُكَ الصَّالِحُونَ.	wa a`udhu bika mimma ista`adha minhu `ibaduka alssalihuna	And I seek Your protection against all that against which Your righteous servants have asked Your protection.
